The Purchasing/Production Assistant is responsible for completing various standard production and inventory control. This position helps maintain valid manufacturing schedules by verifying, reviewing capacity and material availability, and adjusting schedules to ensure on-time delivery to internal and external customers, completing standard purchasing orders, and assisting in the purchasing process by verifying, logging, forwarding, and receiving purchase orders; maintaining vendor files; producing information for projects for buyers, materials manager, or directors.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plans work by gathering, sorting, organizing, and recording data, information, and documents.
  • Maintains outside process spreadsheet in an Excel format.
  • Produces information by inputting, formatting, copying, and transmitting data from the core computer system through Excel and Word files
  • Maintains master price list by updating and recording prices.
  • Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Plans work by gathering, sorting, organizing, and recording data, information, and documents.
  • Maintains and distributes schedules in an Excel spreadsheet format and/or through the core computer system.
  • Maintains and updates delivery dates for internal and external customers.
  • Schedules and attends meetings daily.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree          

Background/Training/Skills/Experience

  • Three to five years of experience or related training
  • Highly organized and able to work with multiple personality types.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, and current (ERP) enterprise resource systems.
  • Ability to Multi-task.
